Enhancing Immune Responses: FMDV O-146S Antigen Adjuvant Study Published

A study conducted with the contribution of Coral Biotechnology has been published under the title: “Immunogenic Potential of Foot and Mouth Virus Antigen O-146S Adjuvanted with Water-in-Oil and Water-in-Oil-in-Water Emulsion in Mice.”

The aim of the study was to investigate how the O-146S antigen, developed against Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV), enhances immune responses when combined with different oil emulsion adjuvants.

Results:

• Adjuvanted formulations induced much earlier and stronger antibody responses compared to the antigen alone.
• Both Th1 (cellular) and Th2 (humoral) immune responses were activated.
• Significant increases were observed in CD8+ T cells, IFN-γ, IL-4, and IL-1β, which are key immune indicators.

Conclusion:

These findings once again highlight the critical role of oil-based adjuvants in providing strong and long-lasting immunity in veterinary vaccines. With its scientific contributions in this field, Coral Biotechnology continues to add value to the veterinary vaccine industry.
